John Hancock Tower

John Hancock Tower: Boston, MA

When this 797 foot high, 63-story landmark originally designed by I.M. Pei, required a new durable roof that would withstand the weather conditions this building endures, it needed a roof that could hold up for a very long time.
Titan used a Sarnafil S327 60-mil feltback membrane system which was specified by the firm of Simpson, Gumpertz & Heger. The heavy-gauge felt-backed membrane offers the high puncture resistance that is needed due to the roof top traffic encountered during building maintenance and window washing operations. This system is extremely wind, pollution and chemical resistant, yet will not add a lot of weight to the structure. Re-roofing including removal of the existing roof systems and installation of the new Sarnafil system was accomplished with no disruption to the occupants of this very busy high rise building.

Swiss RE Corporate Headquarters

Swiss RE Corporate Headquarters: Armonk, NY

An international reinsurance company with United States headquarters in Armonk, NY, Swiss RE recently completed construction of this new office building. The 300,000-square-foot structure rests atop a hill, surrounded by woodlands and nature trails, yet seems very much a natural extension of the environment.
Schnebli, Ammann & Menz of Zurich, Switzerland served as architects for the project, successfully blending modern architecture and classic elements within a very picturesque, natural setting.
The four-story building required Revere evergreen pre-patinated copper on the building's sidewall. The cladding works in harmony with another strong architectural element, the windows, creating a well-balanced visual effect. The wall is expected to weather in an indiscriminate manner, resulting in a one-of-a-kind architectural triumph.
After architectural approvals were received for the cladding, Titan sheet metal workers custom fabricated the pre-patinated panels at Titan's fabrication facility.
Panels were packaged for shipping to match the installation sequence developed by Titan's project manager. All panels were installed to very close tolerances as required to meet the stringent performance requirements for the building sidewall assembly.
